You will need to look at the time and resources available to you and accurately assess what your dad’s declining health is all about.  I went with him to his doctor and found out a lot of things dad had not told me.  i think he was hiding things because he was afraid I’d “take over” his life.  But he really did need a bunch of help.

Once you know your resources, money and time and his needs this will help you decide many things with him, including: whether to take him into your home, hire a live in caretaker, or place him in an assisted living facility or nursing home.
