It’s fascinating to see how other countries and cultures are managing their challenges with dementia. Worldwide it is estimated that globally we will need to spend at least $1 Trillion USD annually by 2018!
In the Netherlands, one fascinating way they’re responding is by setting up towns built for dementia patients and their caregivers. I think this is a cool idea! Especially since the argument is made that social isolation and the depression that accompanies it are severely undermined by this approach.
