    Hello everyone,

My name is Margaret and I am currently caring for my almost 83 year old Father here in our home. My Dad had been living on his own up until the first of the year. He is at the end stages of heart failure and realized after a very scary fall that he should not be living on  his own. I have one sister who has not been involved in all of this in any way so living with her was not even an option. He told me that he would shoot himself before he would go into a assisted living facility and as this is something he has said many times over the years, I believed him. So, he has been here with us for the past three months and it’s been an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. We have hospice services for him now and they have been a great support but it’s a daily struggle to try and find the balance between caring for my Dad and having a life with my husband. Thankfully, my husband is an amazing man. He helped me when my Mother was dying twenty years ago and now he is doing the same with my Dad, only this time it’s in our home and not theirs. I have also just ordered Jane’s book on parenting our parents and am really looking forward to getting it.
