Wondering what you all have been doing to make the processes of aging more “enjoyable” for your whole family?

In our family, we get everyone together for an annual Reunion at our Granny’s house. We pick a theme, like a television show our parents liked, like “I LOVE LUCY” or “BONANZA” and then everyone gets to dress up as characters from the show. At the end of the weekend, we put on a skit with everyone in the family playing their parts. It’s very fun.

Our family has an annual reunion, too, with all the generations and remarkably, and so far, we all do make the event. We meet at a campgrounds we’ve reserved. Everyone gets to participate in what they like to do there: setting up camp, prepping food, taking a hike if they can, singing songs, telling ghost stories around the campfire. We generally all buy a family reunion T-shirt with a photo of us all from the last reunion. The effort we make to spend this time together leaves us all re-energized with the specialness of our family. Maybe that’s why we keep on coming back.
