i am an 83-year old grandmother who raised my 24 year old college student grandson.  He still lives with me and is very sweet and helpful but recently i have needed more care.  He’s been taking me to my doctor’s appointments, running errands.  I believe he’s having trouble keeping up with his studies.  I don’t want him to lose his scholarship and have always been there for him but now I am troubled by my growing dependence on him.   What can i do?

My husband and I faced a similar problem last year.  Perhaps you can afford a caregiver or companion to fill in for the tasks he’s most needing to give up doing.  You have some tough decisions to make.  Make a list of all the different choices that you have and see what your options are and find the one that works best for your situation.  Talk with your grandson and try to make the decisions together.
